Mini Meets

MVKWA mini-meets are typically run as a 4-wrestler round-robin format.

Days leading up to each mini-meet, coaches submit rosters with age, weight, experience level, and win/loss records for each wrestler. Team representatives gather before meets and review each pairing. Any concerns with age, weight, or ability disparities are discussed during this time to ensure wrestlers are paired appropriately.

For the 2022-2023 season, Meets will be split into two sessions of around 2 and a half hours. Younger wrestlers will compete in the earlier session, older wrestlers in the later. The cutoff is different for each meet, so some wrestlers may be in an early session for one meet or a later for the next. Sessions will be communicated via the Heja app.

Wrestlers will typically wrestle 3 matches per mini-meet. Each wrestler will have a coach with them for all matches.

Matches consist of three one-minute periods.

Once a wrestler has finished all of their matches for the day they are free to leave.

All wrestlers are recognized and awarded a ribbon for their efforts during the following week of practice.
